On November 14, the Heart and Stroke Foundation honoured three researchers – including two McGill faculty members – with an award of excellence in research. These awards, presented annually, highlight the exceptional work of researchers working in the field of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular health.

Dr. George Thanassoulis, cardiologist, director of Preventive and Genomic Cardiology at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and a member of the Cardiovascular Health Across the Lifespan Program and Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation at the Research Institute of the MUHC (RI-MUHC), received the $10,000 John J. Day M.D. award of excellence, presented as a bequest. This award of excellence in research is granted annually to the researcher from McGill University who received the highest evaluation in the grant-in-aid competition in cardiovascular research.
