Dr. Gilbert and her team from the Research Institute of the MUHC (RI-MUHC) developed a non-invasive test to detect the presence of mutations in ovarian and uterine cells, allowing doctors to act before the illness gets worse and becomes incurable. The discovery could be a game changer in the early detection of uterine and ovarian cancer, the third leading cause of cancer death among women in North America. Drs. Gilbert and Jardon are both members of the Cancer Research Program and Centre for Innovative Medicine at the RI-MUHC.

Thanks to The McGill University Health Centre Foundation, which has been supporting Dr. Gilbert’s work for over a decade!
