Research Focus

My research focuses on documenting the well-being of children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) and their caregivers. Currently, I am documenting the health-related quality of life and parenting of children with NDDs, as well as factors that make a difference in how those important dimensions are expressed in children's day-to day-lives. In one pan-Canadian study, I am investigating the Quebec subsample on outcome trajectories in children with epilepsy. I am also part of a national team providing leadership and training to four concurrent projects that will contribute to developing and disseminating knowledge about the biopsychosocial context of parenting children with NDDs in Canada. Recently, I have begun to document healthcare provider perspectives on how parents who are raising children with neurodevelopmental disorders in the context of poverty, ethnocultural diversity and sometimes precarious immigration status, experience accessing and receiving services.
