Message from the Interim Executive Director, RI-MUHC
Dear colleagues and friends of the RI-MUHC,
I can honestly say that we have a lot to be proud of, and it’s hard to imagine a better time to move forward with our priorities. We have a truly unique centre, one that visitors, donors and other researchers are quick to praise. It does not take much to imagine the possibilities in the near future, with our critical mass of scientists and clinician scientists in close proximity at the Glen and Montreal General Hospital of the MUHC (MGH-MUHC).
The next months can be looked upon as a time to consolidate our interests and develop new links and collaborations. We expect the newly renovated Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) at 5252 de Maisonneuve Avenue West to open this spring, allowing for the repatriation of many researchers occupying temporary space. Our review by the FRQS in February gives us the chance to look at our evolving research programs and advanced technology platforms and build better links between them, taking advantage of the proximities we now have.
Enhancing health care across the lifespan is an important part of our mission at the RI-MUHC. As a pediatric researcher, I am excited and humbled to be in a position to help guide this tremendous team for a time. From my colleagues in newborn medicine to those working on healthcare advances for the elderly, we all have the same commitment to this mission. I hope we can continue to forge the links that make the RI-MUHC a unique leader of research in Canada.
