Research Focus

My research focuses on rapid detection of bacteria to improve clinical microbiology diagnosis. Conjointly with the Infrared McGill Group, I develop Fourier Transform Infrared rapid detection of bacteria directly from positive blood cultures and from bacterial colonies. I also evaluate rapid microbial identification methodology such as PCR and MALDI-TOF for clinical microbiology.
