I currently lead a strategic project funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - santé (FRQS) on fatty liver disease. We have established the NAFLD translational platform, implemented legal and ethical protocols, established a biobank, and implemented clinical and experimental procedures tailored to the needs of this project. In-depth proteomics, transcriptomics, lipidomics and advanced bioinformatics analysis are actively ongoing for the subcellular fractions isolated from livers. Numerous proteins of interest have been identified and are being characterized in detail at the molecular level for their functions and potentials as biomarkers for fatty liver disease. We specialize in discovery-based proteomics using state of the art instrumentation and streamlined bioinformatics coupled with extensive expertise. Along with providing proteomics services, which is open to all in the research community, we also carry out internal research and development projects (e.g. our FRQS funded project). I am also interested in the role of COP I vesicles in the secretory pathway and lipid droplet biogenesis.
