null Dr Indra Gupta appointed as Interim Director of Child Health Research and Interim Associate Director of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC)

Sept. 21, 2018

After an all too brief tenure as Interim Director of Child Health Research, I am pleased to congratulate Dr Aimee Ryan, as she has become the Associate Dean (Biomedical BSc, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies) in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill. This position is a great fit for Aimee, who brings tremendous insight, vision and energy to all she does. We thank her for her contribution to the RI and will miss working with her, but we are sure that she will do excellent work in her new position at McGill.

It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce that Dr Indra Gupta has agreed to become Interim Director of Child Health Research and Interim Associate Director of the RI-MUHC effective September 17, 2018. Dr Gupta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and a member of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology. She is a well-funded translational researcher in the pathogenesis of end stage kidney disease. Her work delves into the basis for congenital defects in the kidneys and urinary tracts, which accounts for 40% of all cases of kidney failure in children. We are excited to welcome Indra to the RI management team and look forward to her contribution to the Child Health Research and the RI as a whole.

Sincerely,

Bruce Mazer, MD
Executive Director and Chief Scientific Officer (Interim)
