Source: Health E-News. The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) has announced the election of Dr. Liane Feldman as its incoming 2021-22 president. Dr. Feldman is Chair of the Department of Surgery at McGill University and Surgeon in Chief at the McGill University Health Centre. At the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, she is an investigator in the Injury Repair Recovery Program and conducts research at the Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation.

SAGES represents a global community of more than 7,000 surgeons bringing minimal access surgery, endoscopy and emerging techniques to patients worldwide.

“Creativity, innovation, collaboration, the focus on mastering surgical techniques, and the ability to get things done are all hallmarks of SAGES that I love,” says Dr. Feldman. “Over the next year, I’ll continue to focus on innovative educational programs that both enhance surgeons’ performance and experience in and out of the OR and improve patient outcomes.”
