Research Focus

My research focuses on seizures in children. One of my main focuses is studying genetic causes of epilepsy. I also work on understanding autonomic dysfunction in people with seizures, with the ultimate goal of trying to reduce the incidence of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). Finally, I conduct clinical trials, usually attempting to repurpose existing agents to help in the care of children with epilepsy.
