Québec Science magazine has selected its 10 Discoveries of the Year for 2017, including two researchers affiliated with the McGill University Health Centre and its Research Institute (RI-MUHC). The annual list has flagged research highlights across Quebec for 25 years. 

Congratulations to Drs. Donald Sheppard and Kevin Petrecca and their teams for their continuous work and innovation in the field of biomedical research! Dr. Sheppard’s team was honoured for work on “Biofilms -- the eradication has begun” (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences), and Dr. Petrecca’s for “An infallible hand-held probe to aid cancer surgery (Cancer Research).” Dr. Sheppard is a member of the Infectious Diseases and Immunity in Global Health Program at the RI-MUHC, and Dr. Petrecca belongs to the Brain Repair and Integrative Neuroscience Program.
