June 18, 2019

Source: RI-MUHC and MCH Foundation. The 28th Annual Pedal for Kids fundraising event for the Montreal Children’s Hospital of the MUHC was held this month, from June 10 to 14 . Researchers and friends of the Child Health and Human Development Program (CHHD) of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) took part in this teambuilding event on June 11.  Accompanied by cheering onlookers and lots of music, the team rode the custom-built multi-rider bike through downtown Montreal, celebrating their successful fundraising of more than $3,000 for the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Our riders included Rima Slim, PhD, a researcher in the CHHD Program,  Naima Abbadi, PhD, the CHHD Program manager, graduate students Amanda Baumholtz, Amanda Vaccarella, Sally Lee, and Maryam Rezaei Dashtarzhaneh, and RI-MUHC staff members Annie Roy, Yassemine Khawajkie and Lindsay Ryan.

Thank you to all for helping children. Congratulations on your ride!

Pedal for Kids was created in 1992 by Sylvie Lalumière and Michael Conway in memory of their daughter Meagan, who had been treated at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Twenty-eight years later, their initiative is going strong, helping the hospital in its mission to provide cutting-edge care for sick children and their families. It’s a great team-building event that mobilizes hundreds of individuals, companies and community groups each year to raise funds for the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
