Source: RI-MUHC. The Cardiology Division of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC), along with the Cardiovascular Health Across the Lifespan Program of the Research Institute of the MUHC (RI-MUHC), hosted the 17th Annual McGill Cardiovascular Research Day on May 29.
The Cardiovascular Research Day is an opportunity for researchers, staff and students from the RI-MUHC and the Lady Davis Institute to share their recent advances. We proudly welcomed 140 participants throughout the day at this year’s event, with a total of 12 oral presentations and 43 poster presentations. Nabil Seidah, PhD, from the Institut de recherche clinique de Montréal, co-recipient of the 2018 Lucian Award, gave the keynote lecture presenting his distinguished research career and latest discoveries on blood cholesterol regulation.
Our most deserving trainees received prizes for the quality of their presentations, as detailed below. Our faculty judges selected the first prize winners while the audience chose their favourite presentation by popular vote. The faculty judges also elected a Rising Star in each category. These Rising Stars are junior trainees who impressed the judges by the quality of their presentation at this stage of their career. We are excited to hear what will come next from our Rising Stars!
