Projects led by Isabel Fortier and Bartha Knoppers will share human data to advance the understanding of cancer and chronic disease

Two members of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) are among the recipients recently announced for several European funding programs in which the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research are partners. Isabel Fortier, PhD, and Bartha Knoppers, PhD, each had projects funded in the amount of $800,000 under the Canada-EU Commission Flagship Collaboration in the domain of storage, integration and sharing of human data.
Isabel Fortier’s project is titled “A federated FAIR platform enabling large-scale analysis of high-value cohort data connecting Europe and Canada in personalized health (EUCAN-Connect),” and Bartha Knoppers will study “An EU-Canada joint infrastructure for next-generation multi-Study Heart research (euCanSHare).” Both researchers are members of the Child Health and Human Development Program at the RI-MUHC.
