A new editorial published last week in the New England Journal of Medicine, and co-authored by Dr. Yoanna Skrobik, a member of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, provides comment on the recent SPICE III clinical trial. While identifying red flags in the study, the authors highlight both the importance in clinical trials of recognizing the limitations of pilot studies and considering how clinical habits and beliefs drive practice and could therefore impact study results.
