Panel | CHALLENGING PREJUDICES: HOW AND WHY TO INTEGRATE PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES INTO WORK AND RESEARCH
On December 3, the United Nations celebrates the International Day of persons with disabilities. This day is an opportunity to make visible the contribution of people with disabilities in society and to reinforcing the importance of securing their rights so they can participate fully, equally and effectively in society with others, and face no barriers in all aspects of their lives.
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) joins this celebration with a panel on the contribution of people with disabilities to our work. Among its goals, the RI-MUHC’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan aims at communicating and celebrating institutional diversity. Accordingly, this panel will offer experienced- and research-based insights on recruiting and retaining people living with disabilities, the challenges and good practices to ensure an inclusive work and research environment for this population, and the contribution of people with disabilities to more innovative work and research.
