Message from the Interim Executive Director
Dear colleagues and friends of the RI-MUHC,
In 2016 I was honoured to take on new responsibility for this reinvented, highly energized organization with immense potential, the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC). Our researchers have a long history of work advancing global health in areas as diverse as the impact of breastfeeding, vaccine development, infectious diseases, and metabolic conditions, to name only a few. Continuing in this tradition of excellence, this year our international collaborations spanned the globe, across 62 countries.
Moreover, with new, innovative programs across the lifespan in such domains as infection and immunity, cancer, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience and computational medicine, we are forging important new bonds with our partners at McGill University and at other large hospital and university-based research institutes in Montreal and across Quebec. We can be proud that our researchers are recognized as both vital partners in our world-class hospital, the MUHC, and contributors to the global healthcare ecosystem.
At both the new Glen and renovated Montreal General Hospital of the MUHC research sites, we are closer than ever to realizing our vision of a research-oriented hospital. We have unreservedly applied ourselves to making the most of our new infrastructure and collaborative networks. Teams in adult and pediatric research across our three centres are using the advanced technology platforms unveiled between 2015 and 2018 to accelerate the translation of knowledge into better health care.
I thank all supporters and members of our community for taking a valuable part in advancing research that impacts the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients.
I hope you enjoy browsing our website.
