The Research Grants and Data Management Division offers a full range of post-award services to the Research Institute community. It serves as a liaison between researchers, Research Institute administrators, sponsors, and funding agencies.
Activities include opening new grant accounts, monitoring institutional compliance with terms and conditions of grants or contracts, billing and financial reporting, and closeout of awards and contracts. The Division also administers postdoctoral research fellowships awarded by external funding agencies.
The Research Grants and Data Management Division develops policies and procedures to ensure:
- compliance and eligibility with sponsor regulations
- proper financial management of research funds
- effective conduct of research in accordance with highest standards of ethics, professionalism and safety.
The Division is also responsible for managing, compiling, and analysing data about the RI-MUHC's approximately 600 researchers. Data include but are not limited to funding, publications, scientific impact, student supervision, and collaborations. The Data Management Office also plans and coordinates data exchange with McGill University, other McGill-affiliated research institutes and between divisions.
The Research Grants and Data Management division assists researchers with the Canada Research Continuity Emergency Fund (CRCEF), part of the Government of Canada’s COVID-19 Economic Response Plan, offering wage support for research personnel paid from non-governmental sources.
