Erin Coyne studies the role of the ubiquitin proteasome system in obesity and diabetes. She has discovered that gene inactivation of USP19 leads to a leaner body composition and resistance to the development of diabetes during diet-induced obesity. Erin received CMDO-FRQS (2015) and CIHR (2016) travel awards to present her research at conferences and won prizes for best poster presentation at the ICAN 2015 conference in Paris and the 2015 and 2016 MDRC symposia in Montréal.
