Alessandra Ricciardi and Tina Boikos became friends as undergraduates at McGill University. Spurred by a love of all things microbial, both are completing doctoral degrees: Alessandra in microbiology and immunology and Tina in epidemiology. This dynamic duo spearheaded the IDIGH Trainee Program in 2015, organizing a weekly Work-in-Progress seminar and the program’s inaugural Research Day. Authors of multiple peer-reviewed publications, they have presented their work at conferences and received numerous recognitions for their doctoral work.
