Research Focus


My research interests lie in the phenotyping of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease (ILD) subjects drawn from community practice. My team applies conventional and advanced physiology and imaging techniques and genetic screening for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency to improve both sensitivity and specificity of disease detection. Specifically, I work with other centres to standardize whole-breath oscillometry and develop novel intra-breath oscillometry parameters, novel CT scanning biomarkers and new lung function home monitoring technologies.
