Research Focus
My research focuses on the role of vasoactive and structural protein in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, aortic valve disease and pulmonary hypertension. Along with my collaborators, we are also examining the role of stem cells in cardiac regeneration and personalized drug testing. We recently identified a new mediator in the pathogenesis of thrombosis and are currently working with our national and international collaborators on identifying a new therapeutic approach to pulmonary emboli and deep vein thrombosis.
