The McConnell Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM) of the RI-MUHC is an academic research organization that provides the infrastructure to support researchers and sponsors in the design, initiation, conduct and reporting of interdisciplinary clinical research studies. It provides researchers with facilities to carry out their clinical research and access to equipment dedicated solely to research. Additionally, it offers information and expertise in clinical studies.

The Facilities, Planning and Project Management Department is responsible for all activities relevant to the acquisition, maintenance and usage of core facilities, managing construction and renovation projects for research on all our sites.
The Biomedical Engineering and Equipment Planning Department is responsible for all activities relevant to the maintenance, calibration, decontamination, certification, acquisition, monitoring, training, and usage of RI-MUHC laboratory and clinical equipment.
