
Environmental Health and Safety
As part of the People & Culture Division, the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Department supports The Institute’s vision and research mission by collaborating with our researchers, trainees and staff to establish an inclusive, safe and healthy research and work environment. Our team of professionals provides solutions such as training, workplace evaluation, regulatory oversight and hazardous materials management.
Safety training
Safety training provides important information regarding safe work practices, laboratory hazards and ensures compliance with applicable regulations. Training is free for researchers, trainees and staff at The Institute.
Safety training courses may be accessed through the RI Portal (intranet). Request access using the online Portal Access request form.
Institutional Biosafety Committee
The Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) promote and support a culture of biosafety and biosecurity at The Institute and ensure that all Controlled Activities with biohazardous materials are conducted in accordance with applicable legislations, internal procedures and recognized codes and standards of practice.
