My research focuses on the musculoskeletal system in children in good health as well as in those diagnosed with genetic bone and neuromuscular disorders. As the principal investigator of the Motion Analysis Center at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Montreal, my research interests focus on the effects of genetic mutations on the components of the musculoskeletal system (muscle, tendon, bone) and on the relationship between these structures and the efficiency of human movement (e.g., walking). I am also interested in the role that physical activity can play as an adjunctive therapy and in the development of therapeutic interventions such as prehabilitation and intervention tools such as telemedicine.
