Research Focus

My research focuses on improving outcomes for individuals with complex benign gynecologic conditions through advanced surgical techniques, evidence synthesis, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I work on the management of deeply infiltrating endometriosis, abnormally invasive placentation, and surgical innovations that support fertility preservation, reduce pain (including opioid-sparing approaches), and enhance patient-centered outcomes. I evaluate surgical strategies and explore interventions to reduce disease recurrence through clinical trials, retrospective studies, and systematic reviews. I also contribute to global health research by developing strategies to expand access to gynecologic care in low-resource settings. My most recent project is the development of the GREAT Biobank (Gynecologic Research in Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and Tumours), an interdepartmental initiative supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration to advance research in women’s health.
