Research Focus

My research focuses on enhancing the quality of psychological interventions and professional services by examining how psychological science can inform and be informed by professional psychology. This work spans the use of science in professional psychology including psycho-oncology, knowledge translation in psychosocial oncology, and the development, validation, and implementation of science-based psychological and psycho-educational interventions for individuals with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Additional areas of focus include the development and validation of psychological measures, self-compassion and well-being, and dialogue across differences in values, viewpoints, and identities to foster respect, trust, and a more cohesive work and learning climate.
