null CORE Seminar series 2: Biostatistical principles & practices
When: Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 4 pm
Where: Online virtual seminars during the COVID-19 pandemic
Presenter: Dr. Donald Hedeker, PhD
Professor of Biostatistics
The University of Chicago, Department of Public Health Sciences
Topic: Variance Modeling with the Mixed Effects Location Scale (MELS) Model for Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) Data
In studies using Mobile Health measurement modalities like Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA), up to thirty or forty observations are often obtained for each subject, and interest frequently centers around changes in the variances, both within- and between-subjects. This presentation will focus on describing application of the mixed-effects location scale (MELS) model, in which covariates can influence the outcome mean and variances.
