Research Focus

My research focuses on women's health, mental health, and public health. In particular, we have evaluated the impact of chronic hypertension and maternal mental health on pregnancy and/or neonatal outcomes. Our team has also investigated various associations between endometriosis and gynecological cancers, fertility, psychiatric disorders and quality of life, and most recently, with pregnancy. I have been managing the use of an administrative discharge inpatient database from the United States, the Health Care Utilization Project (https://www.hcup-us.ahrq.gov/), for students and staff in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In the field of public health, my work focuses on occupational asthma. I lead an international team developing prediction models to diagnose occupational asthma in Canadian data and validate models in Europe and Asia. The pilot model was transformed into an online calculator and is now available at: https://qxcalc.app.link/occ-asthma-hmw.
