Research Focus

My research focuses on women’s health, including the impact of diabetes, chronic hypertension, and maternal mental health on pregnancy and/or neonatal outcomes. I am also interested in the determinants and diagnostic of reproductive cancers. I have been managing the use of an administrative discharge inpatient database from the U.S., the Health Care Utilization Project (, for students and staff in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During the pandemic, I have been involved as a collaborator in the iCARE Global Study: International Assessment of COVID-19-related Attitudes, Concerns, Responses and Impacts in Relation to Public Health Policies (
In the field of occupational health, my work focuses on occupational asthma. I lead an international team developing prediction models to diagnose occupational asthma in Canadian data and validate models in Europe and Asia. The pilot model was transformed into an online calculator and is now available at:‐asthma‐hmw.
