Expert Panel: Let's Learn, Celebrate and Connect!
Black scientists from different backgrounds and at different stages of their career will share positive experiences and challenges in navigating academia and the research world. The panel will focus on these topics:
- Black researchers’ positionality in healthcare research and how their perspectives contribute to the scientific work
- Concrete examples of how Black researchers can empower the Black community and members of other equity-seeking groups within and outside academia
- The role of research and science in rethinking engagement, leadership, social justice and accountability
- How to connect researchers within the Black community and between equity-seeking communities to influence a more inclusive climate of work.
