Research Focus

My research focuses on improving care for children with serious life-threatening illnesses and supporting the families who care for them. Providing the best possible care requires strong partnerships between families and healthcare teams as they communicate, build trust, and collaborate in making difficult medical decisions. These partnerships can be affected by challenges such as complex healthcare systems, communication barriers, and different perspectives. Through my research and clinical work, I aim to better understand these challenges and identify ways to improve collaboration and decision-making. My goal is to help ensure that every child and family facing a life-threatening illness receives compassionate, high-quality, person-centered care that reflects their values, needs, and priorities throughout their healthcare journey.
