Congratulations go out to three RI-MUHC members who were recently named Members of the Order of Canada, one of Canada's highest civilian honours:
- Dr. Robin Tamblyn, for her contributions to patient safety, notably through her research on physician training, health system monitoring and prescription drug management.
- Dr. Catherine Anita Hankins, for her contributions to combatting the spread of HIV/AIDS in Canada and abroad. Dr. Hankins was an RI-MUHC member until 2003.
- Dr. Howe Bruce Williams, for his contributions to the practice of plastic surgery, particularly for helping burn victims as well as young people with congenital abnormalities. Dr. Williams was an RI-MUHC member until 2006.
Congratulations to Dr. Constantin Polychronakos, who was recently inducted as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

Dr. Marcelo Cantarovich, who became Vice-President of the Transplant Society.
Dr. Colin Chalk, who was awarded the 2014 Principal's Prize for Excellence in Teaching in the category of Associate Professor from McGill University.
Dr. Brian Chen has been selected as Phase 1 Finalist and Prize Winner ($ 12,000) for the Follow that Cell Challenge of the NIH.
Dr. Edith Hamel, for receiving the 2014 John J. Day Award of Excellence from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Québec. This award, which recognizes excellence among Québec researchers, further supports laureates with a $10,000 award.
Dr. Nancy Mayo, who received the Principal's Prize for Excellence in Teaching in the category of Full Professor from McGill University.
Dr. Nicolo Piazza, who received the 2014 Dr. George Fraser Memorial Award.
Dr. Maya Saleh's former doctoral student Philippe Leblanc, whose paper was designated as one of the best of 2014 by the Journal of Biological Chemistry. Leblanc graduated in 2014.
Dr. Donald Vinh, who received the 2013-2014 Merit Group Award from the NIH National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
