Throughout his life, Dr. Pless was a tireless advocate for children’s health

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Ivan Barry Pless announced his passing on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the age of 90. Dr. Pless was a pediatrician, epidemiologist, and Professor Emeritus at McGill University. Throughout his life he was a tireless advocate for children’s health. In recognition of his major contributions to public health, especially child injury prevention, he was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 1993 and promoted to Officer of the Order of Canada in 2017.
