Research Focus

My research focuses on using human pluripotent stem cells to build personalised, next-generation cell therapies for people who need organ transplants. In my lab, we generate patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to create organ-like tissues that recreate each patient’s own biology in vitro. We then differentiate these iPSCs into multiple specialised lineages, including islet, thymus, endothelial, macrophage and kidney cells. By studying these personalised iPSC-based models, we aim to understand and control how the immune system responds to transplanted cells and to make cell-based therapies safer, more durable and more precisely matched to each individual.
