Simon Papillon-Cavanagh is the April 2017 winner of the FRQS Étudiant-chercheur étoile award in the Fonds Santé category. His publication, Impaired H3K36 methylation defines a subset of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas, appeared in Nature Genetics. Using epigenetic data, Simon classified head and neck cancers into categories corresponding to patients’ clinical features. Simon is passionate about machine learning. He is currently deciding between further applying his skills to curing cancer, or conquering Wall Street.
