Event details: In collaboration with the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), the Brain Repair and Integrative Neuroscience (BRaIN) Program of the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is pleased to offer summer research opportunities in the field of neuroscience for Black undergraduate students.
Four paid positions will be offered in the summer of 2024, providing a unique opportunity to receive research experience in a top neuroscience laboratory. Each student will be paired with a faculty mentor and specific research laboratory over a 12- week period. The neuroscience research topics available are diverse and will be selected based on the student’s area of interest and suggestions provided by the selection committee. These topics range from molecular neuroscience to neurophysiology to brain imaging. The goal of this opportunity is to facilitate hands-on training, strengthen personal networking in the field, and promote overall academic success.
What: 4 paid summer studentship positions
When: June 1 to August 24, 2024
Duration: 12 consecutive weeks; full-time, 35 hours/week

We understand that passion for science and research may not be accurately represented by your grade point average (GPA). Therefore, students will mainly be selected based upon their essay and description of the value of the neuroscience research opportunity for their academic success. Selected students will be notified by mid-May with research beginning in June.
