The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (The Institute) has released its 2025 Annual Report, celebrating a year of Discovery that Matters—research that is innovative, meaningful and deeply connected to improving health.
The report highlights how The Institute's researchers, clinicians, trainees and partners worked across disciplines and borders to advance care, support equity, strengthen communities and shape the future of health. The report features a selection of this year's many discoveries and reflects The Institute's ongoing commitment to precision health across the life course, ensuring the right care reaches the right person at the right time.

This year marked the official launch of The Institute's 2030 Vision, a roadmap positioning The Institute as a global leader in transformative discoveries. With five research priorities and four enabling priorities, the vision strengthens the environment, tools and partnerships needed to accelerate progress.
Throughout 2025, The Institute's scientists and investigators uncovered new mechanisms of health and disease, clinical teams led transformative trials and developed innovative therapies and evaluative researchers generated evidence that shapes prevention, policy and care delivery. These achievements reinforce a simple truth: discovery is the beginning of better health for all.
The Institute extends its thanks to its Board of Directors, partners at the MUHC and McGill University, hospital foundations, donors, patient partners and funding agencies for their continued trust and collaboration.
