Research Focus
My research focuses on children with inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), which can be acute pancreatitis (AP), acute recurrent pancreatitis (ARP), chronic pancreatitis (CP), and complications including poor digestion (EPI, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency). I am a member of the research consortium INSPPIRE (INternational Study group of Pediatric Pancreatitis: In search for a cure) that aims to follow children that have a history of ARP and CP to try to better understand how to help them be the healthiest possible, improve their quality of life and follow their natural histories, as it can include problems and complications such as pain, digestive difficulty (EPI) and even glucose control difficulties (diabetes). My educational work has also involved publications relating to standardizing the care and management of children with pancreatitis, accomplished with colleagues in the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN).
