Two RI-MUHC researchers were appointed to the Order of Canada in 2024: Dr. Raquel Zegarra del Carpio-O’Donovan for her leadership as an esteemed neuroradiologist and mentorship of a generation of radiologists around the globe; and Dr. Dan Poenaru, whose far-reaching contributions to pediatric surgical care include the establishment of a pediatric surgical unit and novel training program in a remote area of Kenya
