Dr. Marco Leyton, a Dept. of Psychiatry neuroscientist, told the audience during one session. Dr. Leyton, who is also a senior scientist at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, said that while there are concerns over possible increase in addiction problems and in marijuana-related car accidents, some findings suggest cannabinoids might also reduce symptoms for people in opiate withdrawal and even help them quit.
