A Project Management Office (PMO) helps investigators/sponsors with the performance of their research projects.
The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals and objectives while honoring the predefined constraints. The primary constraints are scope, time, quality and budget. The secondary challenge is to optimize the allocation of necessary inputs and integrate them to meet pre-defined objectives.
The PMO's project managers can assist with:
- defining the aims and objectives of the project
- creating a plan and timeline
- creating and managing the project's budget and payment to sites
- managing the project's team and allocating resources effectively

assisting with the study set-up for:
- site selection
- management of confidentiality disclosure agreement (CDA)
- contract negotiation with sites
- management of clinical trial agreement (CTA)
- preparation of study material
- preparation and execution of site training
- regulatory follow-up
- status meeting with the investigator/sponsor

Supervision of all study activities including, but not limited to:
- subject recruitment
- data management
- quality control
- biostatistics analysis

controlling change and anticipating and managing risk
