Current Trainees

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is home to approximately 1,200 research trainees, including 350 M.Sc. students, 500 doctoral students, 250 postdoctoral fellows and 150 clinical research fellows. Representing at least 17 academic programs at McGill University, the students participate in multidimensional research programs

All research trainees at the RI-MUHC benefit from the activities of the Desjardins Centre for Advanced Training of the RI-MUHC and of the RI-MUHC Trainee Council, which connect graduate students and fellows with opportunities for:

  • Social and community participation
  • Professional skills training and career development.

Together they bring RI-MUHC research trainees together, promote social interaction and ensure research trainee involvement in RI-MUHC and MUHC community events. The Desjardins Centre for Advanced Training facilitates RI-MUHC research trainees' growth as knowledge creators, leaders, experts and innovators by providing research trainees with opportunities to develop broad skillsets and career exposure that will prepare them for a variety of career paths.
