null Pride in Research: LGBTQIA2S+ educators share perspectives on diversity and inclusion

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) joins the commemoration of the Pride month, an opportunity to understand the realities of LGBTQIA2S+ community members, their challenges and ways to make sustainable their accomplishments.

This one-hour webinar aims to show the contribution of members of these communities to different perspectives on research, genders and diversity; to discuss how to overcome the systemic barriers (stereotypes, forms of discrimination, bias, mental health issues, etc.) they face in research environments; and to envision concrete actions applicable to our institutional and disciplinary contexts.

Jason Harley PhD (They) Associate Professor of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, McGill University; Scientist, RI-MUHC, Injury Repair Recovery Program. Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation. Director of Research, Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning.

Elizabeth Diane Labell (no pronouns). Regional Educational Advisor in Adult Education for the First Nations Adult Education School Council. Co-founder of the first regional Two-Spirit group in Quebec – Cercle Indigiqueer Circle.

Dr. Brigitte Baptiste PhD, biologist. President of the EAN University in Colombia (South America) and international advocate of gender diversity.
