Research Focus
My research focuses on improving surgical care through innovation, education, and and surgical system development. A key focus of my work is evaluating capacity building in countries where the burden of injury is rising, often through training programs and simulation-based education. As co-director and co-founder of the Centre for Global Surgery, I also lead research on global surgical education, disaster response, and the integration of medical technology and precision health into surgical care. My field experience in Low and Middle-Income countries around the world informs my research and supports the development of context-specific solutions.
