The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre presents their Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan for 2022 to 2025

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) has announced the publication of the organization’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (2022-25).

This new action plan draws on the diversified insights articulated by the RI-MUHC community. It was informed by the numerous consultations, focus groups and surveys conducted between 2021 and 2023, and by the recommendations of the RI-MUHC EDI Advisory Committee.

The Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé reviewed and approved the initial version of this Plan in March 2023. Drawing on their recommendations, the RI-MUHC’s Human Resources-EDI Committee and Board of Directors approved the final version of the Plan in December 2023.

This action plan implements the RI-MUHC EDI Policy. Through this policy, the RI-MUHC is committed “to fostering an inclusive, equitable and accessible workplace and research space, where representation exists throughout the organization and every member feels valued, respected and supported to reach their full potential.” Through this Plan, the organization will promote research that ethically integrates equity-seeking groups, including women, Indigenous people, people with disabilities, members of racialized groups and ethnic minorities and 2SLGBTQIA+ people. Through this integration in research and administration, the Plan aims to address the needs of these groups in accordance with their priorities and visions, to support and create research that is representative of their reality, and to mobilize knowledge built with and for these groups in an accessible way.
